Kahoona V3 vs V2

Postby harman923 » Mon Jan 31, 2011 11:39 pm

If someone has flown the V3 or if someone from Best can answer my question, that would be splendid:
everything else held equal (windspeed, board size, rider skill, kitesize), how does the V3 perform in comparison to the V2? Does it turn faster, fly closer to the edge of the window, easier to ride upwind, etc?

Turns faster, slightly lighter bar pressure, goes further forward and will sit further back without stalling, new canopy rip-stop and Dacron with lower stretch but more than anything though top end stability and AB rear line options.

and that 3.5m size...

The advertisements say that the better upwind performance applies to 'larger kite sizes'.
So does the 7.5m fly closer to the windows edge?

Simon; slightly lighter bar pressure; enough to make a difference for someone who has a tendency to have tendinitis in the elbow ? I really loved the Kahoona and if the pressure is really lighter I'd get one for sure as it's been one of my all time favourite kite except for the bar pressure that would get harder as the wind would pick up.

Its definitely lighter, I also have issues with sore elbows and the V2 was too much for me, the V3 is at a guess 15-20% lighter but its also quicker to steer, the whole package is easier to use and puts less strain on your arms, I have had a few 2 hour sessions on the V3 now and no elbow problems, I would not have done that on the V2.

I don't think there's a number I can give you for that. It seemed like I could point the same on a 134 on the new kites as I could on the 137 on the v2, that's as good an explanation as I can give
