Best TS 2012 15 or 17 for low-wind freestyle?

I'm 75 kg and I currently own 7.5 and 9.5 Kahoonas. I'm looking for a low-wind freestyle kite.

I can ride 9,5 in 13-14 kt with my standard TT board (15+ kt for freestyle), with a skim board I would say in 10+ kt.

I need a kite for 8 - 12+ kt range, preferably something to ride freestyle/unhooked. TS 17 seems the way to go, but will I trade too much fun factor compared to TS 15? Or is 17 just like 15 but with more power?

I know how to ride low-wind, love it, but I don't want to cruise, I want to have enough power to throw some tricks...

Regards, Peter

pjoter,

Doing real freestyle in 8 knots is a big tough... but if you're aiming for the 12 knot range I would say you could easily get away with the 15. I personally liked the 15 better for unhooked and thats what Michael is using for light wind on the PKRA if that helps at all..

A lot of our team riders are really liking the 15m since the turn speed is a bit faster so you can generate some power quickly if needed and you don't sacrifice too much low end so it makes for a really easy going lightwind experience. I personally always go with the 15m in my quiver, the size complements a 12, 9, 7 quiver perfectly.
