Glad to hear you are getting into this great sport. I have to start out by telling you that you need lessons. This can be a dangerous sport and we always recommend lessons first. After that your instructor will recommend types of gear. Below is a link to a map that will help you find a lesson center.

As for gear, I suggest looking at the kahoona for your kite line with a redline performance bar. A waist harness and a spark board. All the links are below.

The sizes will depend on your weight and your wind conditions.
