Peter has been messing with a funky short bridle set up that gives and eliptical COE positioning as you depower, so it goes way back into the window as well without stalling.

no you are talking - a kite you can pull back into the window to give grunt but can still fly out to the side when you want it

David

what would be really nice for a wave kite would be a kite that can be pulled deep in the window but comes out to the edge a bit gently...so doesn't rip you off the wave..and has no tendency to stall when put deep.

the nemis and 09 roo both have a slight tendency to stall when deep and the nemi in particular comes out with an explosion of power. nice for going huge, but can throw off your line in the waves

As a stupid simple kite to fly, can you give it a stupid simple re-launch test.
The Bandit is often flipped on its back by riders trying to relaunch it.
(Yes they have the technique wrong, we're talking simple stupid here;) )
Once on its back it takes off upside down and fly's around nicely inverted like the early 5th liners used to. This really confuses the nonk on the end.
So be sure to check the inverted flying characteristics of your design to ensure it doesn't happen. Simple fix I know, but when a kite is rushed to market little details like that one can be missed. So better learn from others who made the mistakes.

Stoked. Please make it super fast, stable, reliable wave destroyer. Waroo 08 is good but with three SLE's in the lineup Best has a chance to fill that niche.

Turn like these...

Think Eclipse Nano/Kima, Caution etc...

Thank you.

Waroo Vs Delta

Postby jmp_6969 » Wed Nov 12, 2008 11:47 am

Hello,

I am an intermediate kiter from Belgium doing jumps, backloop...this kind of intermediate things you do with a kite.

I am riding mostly a Waroo 08 in 9m.

In October, I had the opportunity to use the fresh new Bandit Dos (and also the new Waiman).

I can tell you that for my level, the Bandit Dos is just the best kite I have ever rided.

Why ?
- Stability in jump is just impressive. Big lift and then you just fly.
- Relaunch is even easier than with the Waroo
- One bar for all sizes !
- Unbelievable low-range (riding a 10 while the others were on 12 bow kites)

Only issue 1400 € for a Bandit Dos without the pump ! BUt I must tell you after trying the kite, I was really thinking whether the xtra investment was worth.

At the end, I decided it is not because when you are used to your Waroo, it does a very decent job and you have a lot of fun with it for an acceptable price.

Now that I see that BEST is working on a delta C-Shape, I think it is the best direction they could go. Guy like me and beginners who are representing I suppose 90 % of the market, are looking for easy to ride&relaunch stable kite.

-> BEST, please make the new Waroo a Delta with one bar for the 13,11 and 9. I would like my Waroo 13 and 9 be replaced by a Delta Waroo 11 and 8 for the same range (I am 70 kg). One pump is not necessary if it can decrease the costs (furthermore, it helps to warm up not having one pump). For the bar, the only comment would be to make the release system more like the North bar or the Nobile bar, bigger and much easier to grasp.

P.S: about the Wainman, I liked it but it was like a Bandit Dos but not as good as the Bandit Dos.

I kind of had the same choise to make as jmp_6969:
Bandit (9m) or HP'08 (10m)both used but significant differend price.
I too was impressed by the Bandit (one)'s performance. But the pricetack won me over for the nemi. ( now, i don't regret it one minute).

I think however the Delta has a lot of potential and its a good/ the best direction to develop in. As Best is doing right now! thums up!

@ Algor:
The VP2 bridle is a good trick to make Nemi's and Roo's better but I hardly think this will work on a Delta. It my thought that the 'bandit-bridle'is a key factor in it's succes. For example: see North Evo. Good kite. impressive Low-end, dramatic Hi-end. Imo due to the fixed bridle.

Just my 2 cents.
Perhaps sq can clearify a thing or two? sq?

I dont like fixed bridles; a solution simple that impact directly on a long bar throw...
The main improvement in Best design is that detail, IMHO.
But I'm trusting in Peter job...

The Delta shape is happening and now, so Peter is seeing if he can bring the same magic to that as he did to the SLE.

Does this mean that Peter is going to design a very thick LE too like the Bandit. Without the hype I do not find the delta that impresive btw.

I think you can be sure that devil will be in the details with the new Delta.

i certainly wouldn't expect such a thick leading edge. Slowing the kite down with a more curved chord profile and keeping the thinner LE gives you more depower and upwind ability with no loss of stability.

We'll see...
