New Waroo 08 fine tuning option/idea

Postby kusu » Sat Nov 24, 2007 4:47 pm

Hey guys

Yesterday, I was flying the new 13m Waroo on AB. I tried the AA setting a few times and found it too light on the bar for my liking and a bit indirect with regards to feel - hard to explain but I'm hoping you catch my drift.

On the AB I like it, but was thinking it would be nice a touch lighter.

So, I removed the pigtail of the C connection point, and added it inline with the B connection point, in effect giving me a tuning setting between AB and AA (closer to AB though).

Perfect! Have a muck around with different settings and see how you go.

Do you have a picture? Not sure what you mean by "adding it inline."

hes basically putting a smaller version of the 06 rear 'V' on the 08 kite... meaning instead of both sides of the 'V' being the same length, he lengthend one side (like connecting to the one of the outside knots instead of the center knot)...
gives you better pivot turnning for the initiation, but then a little more traction turning once its going.....

exactly...

You could throw another knot in the V but this way it keeps all parts original but with the same effect.

I have now done the same ie moved the C pig tail to B and connected to AB on my Nem HP 12 and the kite is a lot more responsive even with a little less air pressure ie 12 psi is not reqd but 10 as a minimum

No, thats not what he's talking about. He's saying...take the little pigtail off of the C connection point and tye it to the one that is already on B. Now you have a longer connection point on B. Connect one side of the rear bridle split to the longer line and voila!

yes the last pic is what I mean.....

for christ's sake don't try that other mod - looks very dangerous!!!

Ok, so after some more time on the 14HP, 13 Waroo and now 15 waroo, I'm using this mod on every kite size from 9 up. Loving it.

Perfect for me but try your own combos to get the perfect ride for YOU!
